Irish Toddler Guidelines
Irish toddler guidelines released by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland say the majority of Irish Toddlers are deficient in Vitamin D. This means that they are not getting the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) of 10µg a day. Vitamin D is important for a variety of reasons, and can be quite difficult to get the right amount from food sources alone, let alone if your toddler is a picky eater!
Why is vitamin D so important?
We know that it helps support the normal function of the immune system, which is developing more every day as your toddler plays and explores their surroundings.
Vitamin D is also an essential ingredient for growing bones, as it aids the absorption of calcium and phosphorous.
Sources of vitamin D:
