How to prepare Aptamil® Follow On Milk

Because powdered milks are not sterile, failure to follow instructions may make your baby ill.

Wash hands and sterilise all utensils according to manufacturers’ instructions.

Boil 1 litre of fresh water. Leave kettle to cool for 30 minutes and no longer (allowing the water to reach 70°C once cooled from boiling). Measure the required amount of water (refer to the feeding guide) into a sterilised bottle. Be careful of scalding. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.

Using the scoop provided, level off the powder with the built in leveller. Do not press/heap the powder.

Add the correct measure of powder to the water. This can be found in the feeding guide on the back of the pack. Adding too many or too few scoops can be harmful. Shake immediately, vigorously and vertically for 10 seconds until the powder is dissolved. Rolling the bottle or shaking in circles will not be sufficient.

Cool under running tap. Check temperature of feed. Feed immediately.

This product is available at Tesco, Supervalu, Dunnes Boots Aldi & Lidl.

Important notice

Breastfeeding is best for babies. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. Follow-on milk is only for babies over 6 months, as part of a mixed diet and should not be used as a breastmilk substitute before 6 months. We advise that all formula milks including the decision to start weaning should be made on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist or other professional responsible for maternal and child care, based on baby’s individual needs.

Do not use if your baby has been diagnosed with a cow's milk allergy.

Use Toddler Milk as part of a varied balanced diet from 1 year.
