Alcohol and conception.
It is best to reduce alcohol intake when trying to conceive.
I don’t think it will shock you to hear that alcohol and trying to conceive do not mix well. Research shows us that high alcohol intake in women has been associated with menstrual disorders and decreased fertility, this research also applies to women who have five drinks and fewer a week.
We all know that alcohol consumed in large volumes can be problematic in every way but in particular it reduces appetite and will greatly affect your nutritional status which as I highlighted above can make it harder to conceive.
Help is available if you feel you or your partner’s alcohol intake is in excess or just to understand what a standard measure of alcohol is.
