Apple & Cinnamon Porridge

BENEFIT

Porridge is a healthy warming breakfast for your toddler. Oats are a source of fibre.

Ingredients

  • 15g porridge oats
  • 40ml growing up milk
  • 1 apple (small, peeled and sliced)
  • pinch cinnamon

Directions

  1. Put the oats into a bowl and pour in the milk.
  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes
  3. Peel and chop the apple into small pieces and place in a saucepan with 2 tbsp of water.  Cook gently until soft and easy to mash with a fork into a puree.
  4. Stir the stewed apple into the porridge
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder and a handful of berries or chopped fruit (optional).

TIP

Alter toppings for different breakfasts throughout the week. Try chopped banana and a drizzle of honey, crushed raspberries mixed through or a dollop of youghurt to make it extra creamy.
