Breastfeeding is best for babies and provides many benefits. It is important that, in preparation for and during breastfeeding, you eat a healthy, balanced diet. Combined breast and bottle feeding in the first weeks of life may reduce the supply of your own breastmilk, and reversing the decision not to breastfeed is difficult. The social and financial implications of using an infant milk should be considered. Improper use of an infant milk or inappropriate foods or feeding methods may present a health hazard.
If you use an infant milk, you should follow manufacturer’s instructions for use carefully – failure to follow the instructions may make your baby ill. Always consult your doctor, midwife or health visitor for advice about feeding your baby.

When to use Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk?
Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk is nutritionally tailored for toddlers from 12 months onwards as part of a healthy, balanced diet.
A healthy, varied diet is essential to give toddlers the nutrients they need for normal development. These important nutrients include iron for normal cognitive development and vitamin D for normal bone growth and development.
Recent Irish research shows 23% of one year olds don’t get enough iron, and over 90% of toddlers, aged between 1 and 3, don’t get the recommended daily amount of Vitamin D (National Preschool Nutrition Survey, IUNA 2012).
Inspired by the Science of Early Life, our experts have developed Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk, our most advanced growing up milk formulation yet. It contains specific nutrients tailored to support your child’s transition into toddlerhood as they continue to undergo significant growth and cognitive development.
Just 2 x 150ml beakers of Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk each day is one way to help support your toddler’s nutrient intake when combined with a healthy balanced diet.
Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk is our most advanced formulation yet and is nutritionally tailored to support your child’s transition into toddlerhood. It contains our highest levels of DHA* (Omega-3 LCP) as well as the essential fatty acids ALA and LA, our patented blend of GOS/FOS, iron, calcium and vitamins A, C & D.
What are LCPs (Long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids)?
LCPs are fatty acids such as Omega-3 or Omega- 6. World experts have concluded that the current evidence strongly supports the inclusion of LCPs in infant formula1. Aptamil baby milks were the first company in Ireland to provide LCPs in infant formula, supplying them in the amount recommended by leading nutritional experts. Ongoing research has now led to our most advanced formulation yet.
Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk contains the essential fatty acids ALA and LA which are needed for normal growth and development. Your child can benefit from an intake of 2g ALA and 10g LA per day. 300ml of Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk provides 15% of ALA and 17% of LA per day.
Aptamil Profutura Growing Up milk also contains our highest levels yet of DHA* (Omega 3 LCP) which supports normal visual development.
*Contains 33% more DHA than any other Aptamil Follow on milks.
What are GOS/FOS?
Prebiotic oligosaccharides, often shortened to prebiotics, are special carbohydrates. We add a unique prebiotic blend of galacto- (GOS) and fructo- (FOS) oligosaccharides to all Aptamil milks which are derived from chicory and lactose.
