If you have decided that you are going to start trying for a baby, there are a few things you can do to help prepare your body for pregnancy. A good diet and exercise regime is very important.
There is no specific diet known to boost fertility but it is a good idea to eat healthily and exercise as being overweight or underweight can cause problems. Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet of wholesome, nutritious foods including lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, protein and dairy.

Exercise is also very important and any exercise you do now will stand to you both during and after your pregnancy. Every little helps as the fitter you are, the better you will be able to cope with pregnancy, which places extra demands and strains on your body. Walking is an easy and free way to exercise but if you prefer something a little different there are so many different options available. Classes like Zumba, Salsa Dancing or Aerobics are fun ways to exercise and there is often no need to join a gym. See what is on in your local area and get your partner involved.
Also, don’t forget to begin taking folic acid, which helps prevent Spina Bifida. It is ideal to begin taking folic acid three months prior to conception.
