Breastfeeding is best for babies and provides many benefits. It is important that, in preparation for and during breastfeeding, you eat a healthy, balanced diet. Combined breast and bottle feeding in the first weeks of life may reduce the supply of your own breastmilk, and reversing the decision not to breastfeed is difficult. The social and financial implications of using an infant milk should be considered. Improper use of an infant milk or inappropriate foods or feeding methods may present a health hazard.
If you use an infant milk, you should follow manufacturer’s instructions for use carefully – failure to follow the instructions may make your baby ill. Always consult your doctor, midwife or health visitor for advice about feeding your baby.

Building on our 40 years of breastmilk research, we have developed a patented breakthrough innovation. Aptamil Pronutra Advance Follow On and Growing Up milks are our next generation formulations, with vitamin D which supports the normal function of the immune system.
Ahead of their introduction, the New Aptamil Pronutra Advance formulas have been clinically proven to be safe and well-tolerated. All products have gone through extensive quality and safety checks including clinical trials, product testing and product experience tests with more than 1,500 babies. Our findings were also subject to external scientific validation.
Whilst the majority of parents have transitioned well, some have told us that it does not mix as well as the old product. This new improved formulation requires slightly different preparation and, with hindsight, we could have made this clearer. It is important to follow the instructions on the pack, in particular shaking the bottle vigorously for 10 seconds, ideally in a vertical position. We are taking action to improve this communication with parents in the future. Our experience tells us, however, that babies may need time to adapt to any changes to how they may be fed.
We have taken proactive measures to look into any concerns and have reviewed our factory records and can confirm that all safety and quality standards were met, including the 31 tests we run on every batch that leaves the factory.
We have now concluded our investigation on the product and the manufacturing process and can reassure you that there are no safety issues with the new formula.
We want to thank parents for their feedback and patience. We want to assure you that we are here to support you.
