The arrival of a new baby can be a massive expense if you let it or even the maintenance of your little one as they grow through the different stages, but there are ways to keep costs down.

Lots of people have nearly new and sometimes even brand new items lying at home clogging up attics or sheds. Over the years I’ve found many things online, that I need but others are just dying to get rid of.

Websites like magicmum.com have a buy and sell (or even free/swap!) section in their forum. Others I’ve used are the likes of your standard buyandsell.ie, adverts.ie donedeal.ie etc.

A new one that I recently came across through facebook is ‘It’s Nearly New’ you can go to the shop in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin or pay for delivery. But on all of these sites you can find everything and anything available, at a fraction of the cost.

For things like buggies I would advise that you do your homework first, so you know what you are looking for. But the beauty is that you can arrange to meet the owner and sure if you don’t like it, you don’t buy it! You could even make back some money yourself by selling some items that you don’t use anymore. 🙂
