A tiny seed managed to find its way into the tiniest crack in my driveway, and from there grew a beautiful sunflower, standing guard at the pillar. It strikes me as wonderful because not only did it beat all the odds and it germinated and flourished without help, but it happened just before the birth of Cúan, as if to mark his arrival. I call it my “Son-flower”. My neighbour, who is a talented writer, wrote me this poem in their honour.
