Babies & toddlers love to crawl, walk, run, climb and explore. This inquisitive nature makes them great fun to have around but sometimes you may feel at times that you need eyes in the back of your head!
If you hadn’t thought about it before and your baby is on the move now is probably a great time to brush up on your first aid skills and make sure that you have a well-stocked first aid kit in the house. Your local pharmacy can advise you on what to have in a good first aid kit for the home. You would be surprised how even the sorest cut that causes so many tears can be helped with a Spiderman or Dora plaster!
There are lots of organisations that hold first aid classes for mums & dads – have a look for some in your local area or enquire about becoming a first aider in work. There are also many great apps that you can download. The British Red Cross have developed a great free first aid app for iPhone and Android which has lots of advice as well as helpful videos. Their website also has lots of information and videos which can be useful in any situation http://www.redcross.org.uk/What-we-do/First-aid/Children-First-Aid.
One final thing that can help overt any major injuries would be to baby proof your home before your little one gets on the move!
