Lamb, brocolli and cauliflower cheese

  • 200g lamb (cubed)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 leek (white part only, chopped)
  • 50g broccoli florets
  • 50g cauliflower florets
  • 250ml Baby's usual milk
  • 30g butter/margarine
  • 30g plain flour
  • 40g cheddar cheese (grated)


  1. Bring a saucepan of water to the boil and add the cauliflower, broccoli and leek. Simmer until soft approx. 8-12 mins.
  2. Meanwhile, in a pan, heat the oil and add the onion and lamb. Fry until browned.
  3. In a separate saucepan, melt the margarine. Remove from heat and stir through flour until paste is formed.
  4. Add in the milk gradually, stirring continuously until thickening then reduce heat and simmer for 1-2 mins.
  5. Stir through the cheese until melted.
  6. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and lamb and mash/blend to desired consistency.

If you are having roast lamb for dinner yourself keep a little aside and then just make up the vegetables to accompany. Serve with potatoes.
