Add the butter to a saucepan and melt on a low heat.
Saute the leek for 2-3 minutes.
Add the chopped sweet potato and parsnip and cover with the water.
Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Add the chicken and continue to simmer for 5 more minutes.
Puree or blend to desired consistency.
This is an easy way to introduce meat to baby’s diet. Use leftover cooked chicken from your own dinner or alternatively if you don’t have cooked chicken, add chopped chicken breast to the saucepan and saute with the leeks until cooked then follow the remaining steps.
