All babies need to take a supplement of vitamin D3. This is recommended by the HSC. So whether you’re breastfeeding your baby or bottle feeding your baby, you need to take a supplement of vitamin D3. It’s recommended that your baby take five micrograms of vitamin D3 per day. Vitamin D3 is very important for your baby’s bone and tooth development as it helps to absorb calcium. So in terms of how you give your vitamin D3 supplement to your baby. It comes in the form of liquid drops and it’s best to drop the vitamin D3 into your baby’s mouth as opposed to into the bottle. That way you know that their going to get all of the vitamin D as opposed to if you put it into the bottle they may not finish the bottle and therefore they may not get all of the vitamin D3.
